UNITE HERE! Local 24 is the Metro Detroit, Cincinnati and Cleveland area affiliate of the AFL-CIO (a strong national organization.) We represent the workers the who keep the multi-billion-dollar hospitality industry running; including hotels, airport, food service, gaming, textiles, manufacturing & distribution and transportation.
We were created in 2004, when UNITE (a combination of garment industry unions) merged with HERE (the Hotel Employees & Restaurant Employees International Union.)
Today, we are over 270,000 active-members-strong, fighting for good, sustainable jobs, affordable healthcare and excellent benefits for working people and our families.
We are passionate & dedicated, aggressive & tenacious, positive & energetic, hardworking & helpful. We care about our members and make time for them – to listen, understand their struggles and fight for them when they need help.
